Best LED Work Light

Whether indoors or outdoors, quality lighting is vital when you are working on a project. A late night paint job or working in hard to see areas while applying grout, you need the best LED work light available. I have reviewed some of the best LED work lights out there, so you can find the right fit for your endeavors.

Here's a list of Best LED Work Light

Why Choose an LED Work Light?

Light-emitting diode (LED) is among the top energy-efficient and innovative technology. Not only can these lights use 75% less energy, but they can also last longer than other light bulbs. Using an LED light cuts down on time and money spent on replacements for you while using less energy to emit light.

LEDs are also ideal because they don't radiate heat. When I'm in the middle of a project, especially if it's in an enclosed space, I start working up a sweat. I prefer to use LED lights because they don't contribute any heat, making my area more comfortable.

Even narrowing down to LED lights only, there are a lot on the market. Some lamps are more versatile while others work best for a specific project. If you're working on a car, your lighting needs are going to be different than if you are working in a basement. I'll go over both portable light options as well as more stationary selections.

1Usteller 30W LED Flood Light

Usteller 30W LED Flood Light

This LED work light has both power and accessibility. With 30 watts, the area you need becomes well lit. I also appreciated how small the product was, making it easy to move. This product has a wide range and adjustable angle, which is great because you can focus the light exactly where you need. I've used it on the floor and mounted, and it performed great in any situation.

It works best in small construction sites, such as attics, garages, and such. I also like that the light is waterproof, so you don't have to worry when using it in areas like the bathroom.

This light does not run on a battery. But with a 16.4-foot/5-meters cord, use of this light is not restrictive. And when done, avoid cord tangles by looping around the included bracket.

PROS

  • Bright lighting
  • Mobile – easy to transport
  • Versatile in mounting, hanging, or just on the floor
  • Waterproof

CONS

  • Must be plugged in

2. Hallomall 15W/24LED Portable Work Light

Hallomall LED Portable Work Light

Durable, waterproof, and lightweight, this LED work light is great indoors or outdoors. This product does not plug into the wall, making it accessible anywhere. And recharging the battery is as simple as connecting the charger between a wall and the lamp.

A big plus to this product is built-in USB ports. I like that I can charge my phone directly from the light, so I can listen to music while I work without draining my phone battery.

Lack of information/labeling on the device would be my biggest complaint. There are a couple of different buttons for the different light options but if you can remember which is which it isn't a big deal.

However, there is no way to tell how much of a charge is left but the long-lasting charge gave me over ten hours of use when I forgot to turn it off one night, so it hasn't been an issue.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • USB ports for plugging in other devices
  • Easy to charge & holds a long charge
  • Lightbulb
    Simple to transport
  • Waterproof

CONS

  • Multiple buttons with no labels

3. Neiko COB LED Work Light

Neiko COB LED Work Light

I found this LED work light to be functionally bright. And no need for extension cords, this device is rechargeable and cord-free. The charging port is compatible with micro USB, the same as most phones. This makes it easy to charge in your car, which is where I like to leave mine in case of emergencies.

A low battery indicator allows your work to flow uninterrupted. The brightness and size also make it ideal for car/truck work. And a hook on one end and magnet on the other means you can work hands-free.

While it can be used as a torch or floodlight, this light works best in a small, direct area. That's why I recommend it for car use. There are three brightness setting, which I like, but to turn the light off, you have to click through all three which gets tedious after a while.

PROS

  • Bright lighting
  • Cord-free
  • Low battery indicator
  • Magnet and hook for hands-free use
  • Lightbulb
    Easy to charge

CONS

  • Limited area of light

4. Cat CT1000 Pocket COB Work Light

Cat CT1000 Pocket COB Work Light

I was impressed that a lamp so small could produce the brightness it does. And the body is water-resistant and impact-resistant but still lightweight. Instead of plugging in to charge, this lamp uses rechargeable batteries. If you keep some charged batteries on hand, you don't have any interruption using this light.

The magnet on the end works well when looking under the hood on cars or at appliances and keeps the lamp standing on its own.

The hook on the end makes it convenient to hang, but I felt it didn't hold up to the durability of the lamp itself. Made of plastic, I was constantly checking the device when I hung it to make sure it wasn't going to snap.

Never happened, but I usually use the magnet anyway. Perhaps in the future, an upgrade to a metal hook or something sturdier will happen.

PROS

  • Bright lighting
  • Lightweight
  • Magnet for hands-free use
  • Great for automotive use

CONS

  • Not as durable as other products
  • Lightbulb
    Requires batteries

5. Lepower 50W New Craft LED Work Light

Lepower 50W New Craft LED Work Light

This lamp is perfect for large areas and outdoors. Taking the dog out at night? This will light up your whole yard. The brightness level exceeded my expectations. I've even used it with my Halloween decorations. Waterproof and made of aluminum metal, it's a very durable option but still mobile.

I've moved it from my front yard to my backyard on many occasions. And I like that the cord has an on/off switch right on it.

This product functions by plugging in, which isn't the problem. However, the cord is only 59 inches. That may be enough for you, but I usually have to pull out my extension cord, which can be a hassle. Also, while the on/off switch on the cable is convenient, it isn't waterproof, which makes it tricky if you plan to use it outside where rain or sprinklers can get to it.

PROS

  • Brightest lighting option
  • Durable
  • Easy to move

CONS

  • Short chord
  • Lightbulb
Not completely waterproof – especially cord switch

Conclusion

Looking at all the products reviewed, it depends on your project. My personal favorite is the Hallomall because it is cord free with long lasting battery and I especially enjoy the addition of the USB plugs. I've taken it camping and was able to charge my phone while using the light at night. I also feel it's the one that works best in both small spaces and larger places.
