Are propane generators more efficient?
Propane generators are not as efficient as their gasoline or diesel powered alternatives. Energy that propane is capable of producing when it burns is less compared to both diesel or gasoline
I had an option of getting either a solar or electric generator. However, solar did not seem like a good option since you cannot use it throughout the year especially when there is no sunshine. The electric generator was not a good option because it requires using electricity. This means you cannot use it when there is no electricity which is what I wanted. Propane generators were therefore my best option. They have several advantages over these two. These include: can be used when there is no electricity, affordable, long time powering, easy to use and durable. They however have a disadvantage. This is the fact that they are not a good substitute to electricity since they do not power for a long time. Some of the things you need to look for when purchasing portable propane tanks include: tank size, durability, strength of shell, whether or not it is quiet, automatic shutoff when the oil level is too low and circuit breakers to ensure there isn’t any overload.
